01
Why the pipe objects
Most medicines should not enter wastewater. FDA says certain especially dangerous medicines may be flushed only when they are on its Flush List and take-back is not readily available.
02
Do this instead
Use a pharmacy, law-enforcement or mail-back program. If that is unavailable, check the current FDA instructions for the exact medicine.
03
Already did it?
Do not add cleaners or other chemicals. Prevent repeats, and use FDA disposal guidance for anything remaining. For an exposure or poisoning concern, contact emergency services or Poison Control in your country.
